LONG TERM RESIDENTIAL COLLABORATION (including microbusiness development) IN WALES

From Sue at Llananant Farm: "Llananant Farm is a lovely 52-acre organic farm in the centre of Monmouthshire, equidistant from Abergavenny and Monmouth. We're open to suggestions and proposals, but essentially, we have in mind a long-term (up to 12 months) 'wwoof'-style arrangement; that is, bed and board and an opportunity to learn, in exchange for practical help. We have room in our house but also have caravans and space on the farm for more independent living. We'd prefer a couple (or two people) since we are relatively isolated here and we think company is both safer and more enjoyable when Tim and I are working off the farm.

We imagine that people might want to use the time to learn and practice a whole range of land-based skills, in the annual farming calendar. We keep sheep, cattle, goats, pigs, poultry, horses and dogs here, as well as a large kitchen garden, orchard and ancient coppiced woodland, with substantial barns and buildings. We'd be open to proposals about people developing/running (appropriate) micro businesses from here or perhaps one working off the farm. We are registered organic with The Soil Association. We also work with children and young people with additional needs and hope to do more of this; my elderly mum also lives on the farm, in her own home."
