FUTURE GROWERS TRAINEESHIP AT DAYLESFORD MARKET GARDEN, GLOUCESTERSHIRE

"Daylesford Market Garden is looking for a trainee grower; from mid-April to mid-November.

The Market Garden at Daylesford has been growing for 11 years. The remit of the business is to grow a wide range of seasonal produce to supply into the numerous shops, restaurants and production kitchens of Daylesford Organic. We grow on 20 acres of the 2000 acre Daylesford Estate, including 2 acres of soft fruit and an acre of polytunnels. Over the past five years a third of the staff in the market garden have been apprentices or trainees of the Soil Association’s Future Growers scheme. As the garden has grown we have increased the permanent staff to four and now take on two trainees each year to help during the busy growing season. As we have already sourced one trainee for this season, we require another trainee; from mid-April to mid-November. If you are young, fit and hungry for the knowledge of competent market gardening, then a season in a diverse market garden such as Daylesford is essential. If interested please contact market garden manager, Jez Taylor: organicjez@hotmail.com. DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 29, 2016".
